Welcome to my humble blog...Jennifer and I met while we worked at Home Depot back in 1998. We were married in 2003, and now I am all alone at the Depot. We love our two boys, Thomas and Joshua, and our other two kids, Baby Girl (Lab mix) and T.J. (Chow/Shep Mix). There is no telling what you might find on here. It's all very random. I earned a Master's of Divinity degree (M. Div.) from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, and did some additional work at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Jennifer is a stay at home mom and the Principal, Teacher, and Administrator of Reeder Christian Academy for our two boys. Since 2008, we have lived in Tyronza, Arkansas, where I am the Pastor at Barton Chapel Baptist Church.

Enter your email address and I'll let you know when I post something new. (What a great idea!)

Homecomings, Birthdays, and Anniversaries

This weekend Joel came home to civilian life once again. Together he and Steph, Kyle and Bethany, Paulette, Mom, and I went to Patti's in Grand Rivers to celebrate. We celebrated Kyle's birthday, Steph's birthday and Joel and Steph's "first" four year anniversary. The crew at Patti's sang to all of them. It was really fun!
Nice to have you home Joel.

167 Beats per minute. . .

That's how fast the baby's heart is beating. The doctor says it's a normal speed. I have to tell you, when I heard that little heartbeat and actually saw it on the ultrasound machine, I was in shock for a minute or two. That's a little person in there. A person that never existed before, anywhere in the world. A little person that has my and Jenn's genetic code written all over him/her. When I sat back down in the waiting room, I cried a little. Probably won't be the last time either. A little person is living inside my wife - my child.

That little arrow is pointing at the baby. There's not much to determine from the picture, but do you see that little tiny round dot just to the right of the arrow that looks like a bullseye? That is the baby's heart. It may not look like there's much there right now, but look at the last ultrasound three weeks ago to compare the two.

The round black circle was just the beginnings of the pregnancy.

The Spirit of Antichrist

I was reminded by a radio program the other day that even though we never know when the return of Christ is going to be specifically, we do know that the "spirit of the antichrist" is present in the world. The only thing holding it back is the presence of God and the supernatural limitations He places here.
This news report reminds me of that truth.

2 John 1:7 - For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.

"He Was Aiming at Quail - The Bird, Not The Former Vice President"

As if the anti-gun people didn't already have enough "ammunition."

Why yes Alice, there's your problem right there

Turns out, McDonald's French Fries are more fattening than we previously thought. See, it's not our fault. We really are the victims here. All those french fries we ate and all those pounds we gained were the result of faulty testing. We shouldn't feel guilty, after all how could we know that starchy potatoes drenched in grease and covered in salt were bad for us? Don't believe me?
Read it for yourself.

Walking Man

Not really sure who came up with this one, but isn't it weird?
