Welcome to my humble blog...Jennifer and I met while we worked at Home Depot back in 1998. We were married in 2003, and now I am all alone at the Depot. We love our two boys, Thomas and Joshua, and our other two kids, Baby Girl (Lab mix) and T.J. (Chow/Shep Mix). There is no telling what you might find on here. It's all very random. I earned a Master's of Divinity degree (M. Div.) from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, and did some additional work at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Jennifer is a stay at home mom and the Principal, Teacher, and Administrator of Reeder Christian Academy for our two boys. Since 2008, we have lived in Tyronza, Arkansas, where I am the Pastor at Barton Chapel Baptist Church.

Enter your email address and I'll let you know when I post something new. (What a great idea!)

Never take a biscuit to a knife fight

So, I'm typing this a little slowly. Slower than usual because of a little mishap today. As I was preparing breakfast, I was trying to pry apart a couple of frozen biscuits. They came apart pretty easily. So easy in fact that my steak knife went through them and into my hand before I even realized what happened. I think it hit bone. Yeah, it wasn't pretty. Soon I found myself sitting down in the floor trying not to pass out. I could only hope that I hadn't cut a tendon. Jenn took me to an immediate care facility, and fortunately, the doctor on rotation happened to be a former pediatric neuro-surgeon. I was in "good hands" so to speak. Xrays, a shot, and a few stitches later, I was good to go. I was also relieved that as far as he could tell, the tendons were intact. Could have been a lot worse, but it's gonna be troublesome for a couple weeks.
You know that little game we played as kids, "Paper, Rock, Scissors"? In the game "Biscuit, Knife, Hand" the knife usually wins.
